How Micom’s Coventry Team Stepped Up for Wellness Month 2025

September has now come to an end, and what a month it’s been for everyone at Micom’s Coventry headquarters. Our teams came together to take part in our annual Wellness Month Challenge, showing just how powerful small changes can be when we work together.

At Micom, we’re proud to call Coventry home. We’re a local technology business that believes wellbeing at work starts with people feeling good, staying active, and supporting one another. That spirit has been clear throughout this year’s challenge.

A Month of Movement and Mindfulness

Over the course of September, our teams focused on improving health, balance, and connection both inside and outside of work. From walking meetings that encouraged new ideas to swapping sugary snacks for healthier alternatives, the energy across the office has been incredible.

There have been some real highlights too:

  • The Commercial Team collectively walked up Mount Kilimanjaro by climbing the office stairs. They missed the milestone by just a whisker, but special credit goes to Ryan W, our Kilimanjaro Champion, who climbed the stairs 216 times across the month.
  • Shaun achieved a huge personal best with a 100-kilogram clean and jerk press.
  • The Support Team took on a creative challenge, completing pull-ups that, when combined, matched the total weight of paper we hold in stock.
  • Teams across Coventry joined in by blending healthy smoothies and sharing recipes, making the office brighter and healthier than ever.

Wellness for Good

Every point scored during Wellness Month contributed to Micom’s Wellness for Good initiative, where the company donates up to £1,000 to charity. This year’s efforts raised awareness of how positive habits at work can also benefit the wider community.

Recognising Our Winners

  • Operations – for showing the most participation and earning the highest total points across the month.
  • Kasia – for winning the individual category with an outstanding performance and consistency.
  • Commercial Team – the overall winners, achieving the highest average score per person.

Each department played a part in creating a healthier, happier workplace.

The Effort Meter

Together, we scored an amazing 11,936 points during Wellness Month. That’s the equivalent of:

  • 11.9 million steps taken
  • Nearly six thousand miles travelled – roughly the distance from Coventry to New Delhi
  • Almost a million calories burned – or enough energy to brew thousands of cups of tea for the team

Building on Our Success

The challenge has been a brilliant reminder that workplace wellbeing can be fun and inclusive. As a Coventry business, we’re proud to lead by example and show that supporting employee health builds stronger teams, better collaboration, and lasting motivation.

We’re already seeing the benefits in new daily habits – morning walks, lunchtime stretches, healthier snacks, and more mindful moments. The goal now is to keep this momentum going long after Wellness Month has ended.

At Micom, we believe every small action adds up to something meaningful. Whether that’s helping local businesses communicate better or helping our own people feel their best, it all starts with wellbeing.
