Visiting the Zanzibar School of Hope - A Lesson in Purpose!

Recently, I had the privilege of visiting the Zanzibar School of Hope - a place born from resilience, run on passion, and built for opportunity.Founded by inspirational local leaders who saw a gap in education for children in the Michamvi region, the school began with a handful of students and a mission: to create access to learning where there was none. Today, they're building a new school to serve even more young minds - and we're proud to be part of that journey. At Micom, we believe in connection with purpose - and our commitment doesn't stop at technology. We are supporting the new build with a donation to help bring classrooms and resources to life, and we'll continue backing their work as part of our Micom Foundation.

This isn't just charity. It's partnership. It's about aligning with those who share our values of progress, inclusion, and integrity - and ensuring our business success translates into meaningful change beyond our desks, office's and print centre. The School of Hope reminded me what communication is really for opening doors, lifting others, and investing in futures that matter.

The work on the new school stalled after lack of funding...
..we have provided the funding needed for the next round of the build...

It's been an incredible 12 months of giving back - from supporting Coventry Havens Womens Aid, Baby Godiva and Our Jay's Foundation, to backing the Harpole girls' team and now the School of Hope in Zanzibar.Big or small, every act has made a difference. And it's a reminder that when we come together, we do more than deliver comms - we deliver real impact.Let's keep that energy going.
